CHOKOPAM was founded in Gonaives, Haiti in July 2018. The founder Antonio Philantrope goal was to create a long-term business that would utilize Haiti natural products while contributing to the country agricultural development. He created CHOKOPAM which exclusively uses Haitian Cacao Beans to produce Chocolate Bars in a facility in Gonaives, Haiti.
The potential of Haitian cacao was revealed to us in the chocolate bars produced in rural areas. We made the bet to produce them better while taking into account the know-how of the peasants. They inspire us and are our first partners because, in the northern regions of the country, their work on cacao trees is the basis of everything. They harvest the pods and then break them by hand to extract the beans, which will be sorted, cleaned and fermented.
Once they are ready, the beans are taken care of by our team in our facilities in Gonaives with the aim of extracting the best chocolate bars. In working conditions that promote the integration of women, pay equity and respect for standards to deliver a high-end product, balancing the nutritional and values necessary for a proper balance of the body.
